Production Associate

ABcann Medicinals is looking for passionate plant enthusiasts to join our skilled team of production associates. Production associates are responsible for cultivating and producing high quality medical cannabis through state of the art production practices and ensuring that products are packaged and labelled according to prescription and Health Canada Regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Pre and Post Production

  • Work on all aspects of the cannabis cultivation process including cloning, transplant, daily plant care, pest management, harvesting, trimming
  • Utilize environmental control system to regulate grow room parameters
  • Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation inside the production area and facility at all times, including routine cleaning and sterilization of equipment and infrastructure
  • Record daily horticultural tasks and activities and make sure all required data is filled electronically
  • Work cohesively in a group or independently as required
  • Packaging and labeling of cannabis materials
  • Following the ACMPR, safe work practices, and comply with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and WHMIS
  • Diagnosing problems and/or potential problems and responding accordingly
  • Meet deadlines and shift priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment with interruptions
  • Assist in the maintenance of product inventory

Qualifications and Skills

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Secondary School diploma with post-secondary education being an asset
  • Diploma or certification in greenhouse or nursery trade, experience in lieu of will be considered

Required Skills/Experience/Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Previous experience in greenhouse, horticultural or nursery trade
  • Familiarity with the cannabis industry, experience is an asset
  • Experience with packaging and labeling
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow and adhere to strict SOP's associated with production an packaging process
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to complete ongoing documentation and maintain records
  • Strong computer literacy and competence
  • Maintenance experience is considered an highly desirable asset

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time
  • Eligible for Security Clearance to be completed by Health Canada (no criminal record)
  • Lack of allergies to plants, pollen, and other environment allergens related to the greenhouse industry
  • Capacity to perform shift work inclusive of weekends
  • Must meet physical conditions of the position
